In South Carolina, typically only about 13–17% of voters participate in primaries, meaning a small fraction of voters decide who appears on the November ballot.

I retired from the U.S. Navy in 2010 as a nuclear-trained Chief Petty Officer. During my naval career, I led multiple teams of nuclear-trained Electrical Operators and Reactor Operators across three overseas deployments, including one to a combat zone. I served aboard five submarines, including three Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarines, spending years operating in high-responsibility, mission-critical environments. I taught over 400 junior sailors advanced Mathematics, electrical, mechanical, and reactor theory as they progressed through the Navy nuclear training pipeline.
After retiring from the Navy, I transitioned into civilian life as an Automation Engineer in local manufacturing. I earned my Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Leadership from Charleston Southern University in 2016, continuing my focus on accountability, teamwork, and effective leadership. I have been entrusted with a Secret Clearance by the Department of Defense in previous civilian career positions.
I have continued my commitment to public service in public school education by running for and being elected to the Charleston County School District Constituent Board representing West Ashley. During this time, I also became involved with the David Bell campaign, working to support the David Bell Campaign Committee in our shared mission for the community. I served on the Board from 2018 to 2022, including a term as Vice Chair of the Board. My work has consistently centered on making systems work better for the people who rely on them, which aligns with the goals of the SC House 116.
I have volunteered in multiple capacities to support equal opportunity and fairness, including service on the board of a regional nonprofit organization. I have lived with my family in the West Ashley area of South Carolina House District 116 for nearly 11 years and have called the Charleston area home for more than 25 years.
I’m running for the SC House 116 because our state’s priorities need to shift back to improving everyday quality of life. South Carolina, particularly in areas like Charleston, struggles with education, healthcare access, infrastructure, rural services, and affordability. Through my nonprofit work and repeated testimony at the Statehouse, I have spent years addressing these issues from the outside. I believe that true leadership, as highlighted by my David Bell campaign, means stepping up when progress stalls, rather than waiting for someone else to act. Encouraged by community leaders and lawmakers who support my David Bell Campaign Committee, I am ready to do the work needed to deliver practical results for South Carolina House District 116.
Healthcare
I aims to lower costs by expanding zero-dollar urgent care, preventive screenings, and chronic medication coverage. We must stop insurers from raising premiums while reducing care and increasing deductibles, ensuring that every resident in SC House 116 has access to affordable healthcare.
Education
I am dedicated to fully funding public schools and keeping public dollars in public classrooms. We will ensure that rural, coastal, and growing communities in South Carolina House District 116 have equal access to advanced, technical, and vocational education.
I advocate for Universal Pre-K for 4-year-olds as it provides every child a strong start before kindergarten. Children who attend quality early education programs are more prepared, perform better throughout school, and build the skills they need to succeed. It also helps working families by replacing a year of expensive daycare with public education, putting real money back into parents’ pockets.
Property Taxes & Cost of Living
We will lock primary residence property taxes to prevent families and seniors from being taxed out of their homes. The David Bell Charleston initiative seeks to end endless vehicle property taxes, replacing them with fair, one-time purchase taxes.
Economic Fairness & Responsibility
Our campaign will expand prorated benefits for disabled veterans based on service and disability. Additionally, we will stop corporate cost-shifting that forces taxpayers to subsidize low-wage business models, ensuring economic fairness for all.
Infrastructure & Smart Growth
We need to fix traffic, improve pedestrian safety, and require developers to pay for infrastructure. The David Bell campaign is committed to building flood-resilient, walkable communities that plan for growth before it overwhelms schools and roads.
Equity & Bodily Autonomy
I believe everyone should have a fair chance at having their best life. I am committed to full bodily autonomy, ensuring that medical decisions remain between you and your doctor without government interference.
"My priorities are simple: affordable healthcare, strong public schools, fair taxes, responsible businesses, and infrastructure that works for the people who live here — not just those who profit from it."
